He has successfully executed numerous revenue-generating transactions involving small, medium, and major biotech/pharma organizations. James is currently Senior Vice President of business development at Palatin Technologies. Prior to that, James served as Senior Vice President of corporate development at Santen Pharmaceutical, LTD. Before joining Santen, James held the position of Senior Vice President of business development at Adherium, a New Zealand-based digital health respiratory outcomes organization where he was responsible for establishing Adherium North America. Earlier in his career, James was Vice President of Business Development at Nektar Therapeutics and Vice President of Business Development at Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Ltd. There, he was directly responsible for acquisitions and strategic partnerships in North America and the out-licensing of oncology, ophthalmology, CNS, and respiratory opportunities in Japan. James holds graduate and undergraduate scientific degrees in biochemistry and neurobiology, respectively, from the University of California. James also holds a post-graduate financial analytics certification from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
